Job summary

First Tech Federal Credit Union is seeking a Senior Commercial Loan Workout Specialist in Hillsboro, OR. You will lead a critical, complex portfolio, guiding workout strategies and recoveries while coordinating with borrowers, legal counsel, and senior leadership.

You will perform advanced credit analyses, manage negotiations, and ensure compliance with risk governance. This role is hybrid with demanding deadlines and significant impact on portfolio performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 4+ years of experience in commercial lending, special assets, loan workout, credit risk management, or related field.
• Advanced knowledge of commercial loan structures and risk rating methodologies.
• Experience developing and executing workout, restructuring, liquidation, and recovery strategies for complex commercial credits.
• Strong financial statement analysis, cash flow modeling, and collateral valuation skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a complex portfolio of criticized, classified, non-performing, and charged-off commercial and small business loans, serving as the lead relationship manager throughout the workout and recovery process.
• Provide strategic oversight of borrower performance, collateral adequacy, lien perfection, insurance coverage, covenant compliance, and risk ratings to identify risks and implement corrective actions.
• Advise executive leadership on workout strategies, reserve adequacy, risk exposure, portfolio performance, and trends.
• Develop, negotiate, and execute workout, forbearance, liquidation, note sale, foreclosure, settlement, and recovery strategies to maximize asset recovery.
• Perform advanced financial and credit analyses, including review of financial statements, tax returns, cash flow projections, and collateral valuations.
• Lead negotiations with borrowers, guarantors, investors, and external stakeholders for favorable workout outcomes.
• Oversee site inspections and collateral reviews to evaluate operations and credit risk exposure.
• Structure and document complex loan modifications and other loss mitigation strategies.
