Job summary

WestStar is seeking a Commercial Loan Specialist Manager in El Paso, TX. This full-time role provides oversight of Commercial Lending personnel and offers personal banking support. The position focuses on client relationship development, loan documentation, and coordination with Loan Committee.

Responsibilities include supervising loan staff, ensuring timely processing, and maintaining compliance with BSA/AML and other regulations. Notarization and document review are part of the duties.

Qualifications

• Minimum fifteen years’ experience as a Personal Banker.
• Ability to obtain Notary Public license for the state of Texas or New Mexico
• Strong organization skills and attention to detail
• Proficient with use of LaserPro lending software
• Proven leader; ability to direct and mentor junior level staff
• Self-directed; ability to solve problems independently
• Strong computer skills to include Microsoft Office, to include Word and Excel
• Strong knowledge of consumer and commercial loan documentation
• Strong knowledge of relevant rules and regulations (BSA/AML, Right to Receive Appraisal, etc.)
• Strong technical knowledge; mastering of loan documentation and title commitment process; handle more complex relationships

Responsibilities

• Oversee Commercial Loan Specialists including workflow, performance reviews, timesheets and time-off requests.
• Build relationships with clients through proactive outreach and follow up.
• Assist lending officers with wire transfers, payments, advances and client inquiries.
• Assist in collection of application items, requesting financials and other documents, client follow up.
• Assist in preparation of loan presentations to Loan Committee.
• Assist lending officers with exception/critical reports and follow ups on overdrafts and loan maturities.
• Assist lending officers with loan closings.
• Ensure correspondence is routed and handled properly.
• Ensure compliance with banking policies, lending practices and regulatory requirements.
• Handle in-person and telephone inquiries; research discrepancies and resolve issues.
• Notarize documents when necessary.
• Prepare Loan Documents on Laser Pro
• Review Attorney prepared Documents
• Other duties and special projects as assigned
