Job summary

Burnett Specialists is seeking an experienced Commercial Litigation Paralegal in San Antonio to join its legal team. The ideal candidate enjoys litigation, thrives in a collaborative environment, and has strong experience supporting attorneys through the litigation process, including trial preparation and courtroom proceedings.

The role requires a background in commercial, business, or civil litigation with hands-on trial experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of litigation paralegal experience; 7–10+ years preferred.
• Experience in commercial, business, or complex civil litigation.
• Prior trial experience with hands-on trial preparation and support.
• Strong understanding of court procedures, discovery, deadlines, and filing requirements.
• Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
• Paralegal certification or formal paralegal education is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support attorneys handling commercial litigation, business disputes, contract disputes, and other complex civil litigation matters.
• Assist with all phases of litigation, from initial case preparation through discovery, trial, and post trial proceedings.
• Prepare and organize pleadings, motions, discovery responses, subpoenas, exhibits, and other legal documents.
• Coordinate depositions, hearings, mediations, and trial schedules.
• Manage case files, litigation calendars, deadlines, and court filings.
• Assist attorneys with trial preparation, including exhibit organization, witness preparation, trial binders, and courtroom logistics.
• Provide direct support to attorneys during trials and court proceedings.
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and other legal professionals.
