Job summary

Burnett Specialists seeks an experienced Commercial Litigation Legal Assistant to join its Fort Worth litigation team. The role supports a partner, an associate, and two Of Counsel attorneys, handling matters from inception through resolution or trial.

The candidate will manage pleadings, deadlines, and court filings while coordinating with clients and court personnel in a busy litigation desk environment.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of commercial litigation legal assistant or paralegal experience.
• Strong experience with commercial or business litigation matters.
• Experience managing litigation matters from inception through resolution or trial.
• State and federal court filing experience.
• Strong knowledge of court procedures, filing requirements, protocols, and deadlines.
• Experience preparing pleadings and other litigation documents.
• Trial preparation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative and litigation support to multiple attorneys.
• Draft, prepare, format, and organize pleadings, motions, correspondence, and other litigation documents.
• Manage commercial litigation matters from beginning to end.
• Maintain case calendars and track deadlines, hearings, depositions, and trial settings.
• Handle state and federal court filings.
• Coordinate with clients, opposing counsel, experts, vendors, and court personnel.
• Maintain electronic case files and document management systems.
• Assist with discovery, deposition preparation, exhibits, and trial materials.
• Track matters, deadlines, and follow‑ups.
• Conduct Westlaw searches as needed.
• Manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
