Job summary

Sierra Executive Solutions Inc. in Reno, NV is partnering with an established commercial landscaper to identify an experienced Commercial Landscape Estimator who can independently manage estimates from initial plan review through final bid submission.

You will review drawings, perform takeoffs for landscape, irrigation, hardscape, and site improvements, develop pricing, coordinate with vendors and subcontractors, and ensure a smooth handoff to operations.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of construction estimating experience, preferably in commercial landscape construction.
• Strong understanding of landscape materials, irrigation, hardscape, and site work.
• Ability to review plans, perform takeoffs, develop pricing, and complete a bid from start to finish.
• Understands labor and equipment production rates, vendor pricing, and subcontractor scopes.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; familiar with estimating software such as Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or comparable tools.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates for commercial landscaping, irrigation, hardscape, and site improvement projects.
• Review construction drawings, specifications, and addenda to determine complete project requirements.
• Perform accurate material and quantity takeoffs for landscape and irrigation systems.
• Develop estimates incorporating material costs, labor productivity, equipment requirements, and subcontractor pricing.
• Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain and evaluate quotations.
• Identify potential scope gaps, discrepancies, and change-order considerations.
• Prepare requests for information (RFIs) and bid clarifications when necessary.
• Manage multiple estimating assignments while meeting established bid deadlines.
• Review completed estimates for accuracy, completeness, and competitiveness.
• Coordinate the handoff of awarded projects to operations and project management.
