Job summary

Comfort Systems USA, Inc. in NOVA is seeking a Senior Commercial HVAC Service Technician to diagnose and repair a wide range of commercial systems, with a take-home van and overtime opportunities.

You will lead complex service calls, mentor junior technicians, and build lasting client relationships. You’ll work on RTUs, VRF, boilers, cooling towers, and building automation interfaces across schools, hospitals, data centers, and government facilities in the Northern Virginia market.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of commercial HVAC service experience.
• Virginia Master HVAC license or eligibility to obtain one.
• Experience troubleshooting advanced commercial HVAC systems.
• Experience commissioning equipment and startups.
• Mentor and develop junior technicians.
• EPA Universal Certification.
• Valid driver's license and driving record acceptable.
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation every 6-8 weeks.
• Professional communication skills in field and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair commercial HVAC equipment (RTUs, split systems, boilers, pumps, cooling towers, VFDs, controls).
• Lead troubleshooting on challenging service calls and serve as a technical resource for colleagues.
• Manage preventative maintenance and service activities across assigned accounts.
• Mentor and support junior technicians in the field.
• Create clear service reports and communicate findings and recommendations to customers.
• Identify repair, retrofit, and replacement opportunities and provide solutions.
