Job summary

Comfort Systems USA, Inc. is seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Service Technician to support customers in the NOVA market.

You will diagnose and repair a wide range of commercial HVAC equipment, build lasting customer relationships, and participate in ongoing OEM training. The role offers $36-$44/hour based on experience, with a take-home van, fuel card, phone, and opportunities for overtime and on-call compensation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial HVAC service experience.
• Virginia Journeyman HVAC license, or eligibility to obtain one (we’ll assist with exam prep, hours, and licensing under our Master license).
• EPA Universal Certification.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotation (every 6–8 weeks).
• Professional communication skills in field and service documentation.
• Bonus points for building automation experience (Niagara, Metasys, Tracer, Desigo).
• Chilled water, boiler, cooling tower, or critical-environment experience.
• OEM training from Trane, Carrier, York/JCI, or Daikin.
• NATE, A2L, or other industry certifications.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair commercial HVAC equipment, including RTUs and split systems (50 ton and above), VRF, heat pumps, hydronic and low-pressure steam boilers, pumps and pump packages, cooling towers, and chillers.
• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections across a diverse commercial customer base.
• Create accurate service reports and clearly communicate findings and recommendations.
• Identify additional repair and replacement needs and provide solution recommendations that add value for customers using a digital platform.

Commercial HVAC Service Technician $36 to $44/hr plus overtime | Take-Home Van | VA Tradesman Journeyman License Support

We're looking for experienced Commercial HVAC Service Technicians to support customers throughout the Northern Virginia (NOVA) market. If you're the type of technician who enjoys solving problems, takes ownership of your accounts, and would rather diagnose the issue than swap parts and move on, you'll fit right in.

Our team serves a diverse portfolio of commercial facilities including schools, healthcare facilities, laboratories, data centers, government buildings, refrigeration warehouses and Class A office properties.

You’ll work on a wide range of commercial HVAC equipment, build lasting customer relationships, and join a team that invests in training, safety, and long-term career growth.

What You’ll Do

• Diagnose and repair commercial HVAC equipment, including RTUs and split systems (50 ton and above), VRF, heat pumps, hydronic and low-pressure steam boilers, pumps and pump packages, cooling towers, and chillers.

What We’re Looking For:

• 5+ years of commercial HVAC service experience.
• Virginia Journeyman HVAC license, or eligibility to obtain one (If you're eligible, we'll help you get there through exam preparation, fee reimbursement, tracked hours, and support under our Master HVAC license.)
• EPA Universal Certification.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation (only once every 6-8 weeks!)
• Professional communication skills, both in the field and in service documentation.
• Bonus Points For Building automation experience (Niagara, Metasys, Tracer, Desigo).
• Chilled water, boiler, cooling tower, or critical-environment experience.
