Job summary

Lubbock County seeks an experienced HVAC/R technician supervisor to manage operation, repair, maintenance, installation, and replacement of all HVAC/R systems across county facilities. The role involves gas and electric furnaces, air systems, packaged rooftop units, ice machines, walk-in coolers/freezers, and direct digital controls (DDC).

Responsibilities include adjusting set points, balancing, calibrating controllers, responding to emergencies, and maintaining logs.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
8+ years of experience in commercial HVAC/R installation, service, and maintenance.
EPA Universal certificate required.
HVAC/R school or vocational training or equivalent experience for certification.
NATE, ASHRAE, or ACCA certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

Adjust, program, and change HVAC/R and DDC set points for optimum efficiency and occupant comfort.
Inspect and analyze installed HVAC components for maintenance, repairs, or replacement.
Install and calibrate HVAC/R controllers, VFDs, valves, and other components.
Perform hydrodynamic and air balancing of HVAC systems as required.
Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and install commercial HVAC/R equipment and rooftop units.
Respond to 24-hour emergency calls and provide after-hours overtime as needed.
Complete work orders and daily logs; ensure compliance with County policies.
