Job summary

Richland County is seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and refrigeration systems across county facilities. The role includes guiding subordinate mechanics in the absence of the HVAC Supervisor and ensuring work orders are completed accurately and on time.

Responsibilities also cover monitoring computerized systems, performing preventive maintenance, diagnosing malfunctions, and keeping CMMS records up to date while adhering to safety standards

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED supplemented by formal HVAC training.
• EPA 608 Refrigerant Handling Certification or equivalent is required.
• Two to four years of HVAC maintenance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Installs, maintains, and repairs HVAC and refrigeration systems in County facilities.
• Provides guidance and leadership to co-workers in the absence of the supervisor.
• Monitors and operates computerized HVAC systems; conducts analyses to verify performance.
• Performs preventive maintenance to extend equipment life and reliability.
• Maintains CMMS records and ensures safety and compliance.
