Job summary

FirstCall Mechanical, in partnership with STR Mechanical, is seeking a seasoned Commercial HVAC Service Technician II in Chesapeake, VA. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of commercial HVAC experience, an active EPA certification, and a valid driver's license, with a flexible, on‑call schedule and strong problem‑solving skills.

You will diagnose and repair heating, cooling, refrigeration and control systems, service mini-splits and RTUs up to 15 tons, and maintain preventive maintenance programs

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record.
• Active EPA Certification required.
• 5+ years of experience in a commercial HVAC setting.
• OSHA 10 Certification required.
• Manufacturer Certification preferred.
• Able to work flexible hours and on-call shifts.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose heating, cooling, refrigeration, and food service equipment issues.
• Perform maintenance, service repairs, install new units or replace parts for 15 tons+.
• Maintain larger PM contracts with more than 5 units.
• Repair or replace defective parts and controls.
• Service mini-splits and/or smaller RTUs and mini-splits up to 15 tons.
• Coordinate with Dispatch to complete scheduled jobs.
• Maintain preventative maintenance schedules and provide elite customer service.
