Job summary

Jay Peak Resort is seeking a Senior HVAC Technician to install, maintain, and troubleshoot commercial HVAC and hydronic systems across the resort. The role requires strong diagnostic skills, coordination with contractors, and guiding an HVAC apprentice.

The position emphasizes safety, energy-saving initiatives, and building management system (BMS) familiarity, with training provided as needed. Vermont licensing and EPA 608 certification are required.

Qualifications

• Five to ten years of related commercial HVAC experience and/or training.
• EPA Universal Refrigeration Certification (Section 608) required.
• Vermont Operator’s License required; ability to obtain Jay Peak Inc’s insurance policy.
• Knowledge of hydronic systems and building automation controls.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain commercial HVAC and hydronic systems (heat plants, ventilation, AC, controls, boilers).
• Troubleshoot and repair AC and multi-zone heating/cooling systems.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and service providers for repairs and projects.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults in HVAC systems.
• Provide technical direction and on-the-job training to apprentices.
• Assist in preventive maintenance across all resort buildings and energy-saving projects.
