Job summary

Boar's Head Resort in Charlottesville, VA is seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to join our Engineering team. You will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems throughout the resort, ensuring guest comfort and safety.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years' commercial HVAC experience, EPA 608 certification, CMMS familiarity, and the ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical or vocational training in HVAC is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of commercial HVAC maintenance experience.
• EPA Section 608 Universal Certification required.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Working knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, refrigeration systems, electrical controls, and mechanical equipment.
• Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals.
• Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance on chillers, boilers, cooling towers, rooftop units, air handlers, fan coil units, split systems, exhaust systems, pumps, and associated equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control system issues using appropriate testing equipment.
• Monitor and maintain Building Automation Systems (BAS) to optimize system performance and energy efficiency.
• Respond promptly to guest room and facility maintenance requests related to HVAC systems.
• Perform routine inspections to identify potential equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate with outside contractors during equipment installations, inspections, and major repairs.
• Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to emergency maintenance situations, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
