Job summary

Heartline Staffing, in partnership with Purple Cow Recruiting, seeks a Senior HVAC Service Technician for a full-time role based in Des Moines, Iowa. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of commercial and industrial HVAC systems and assume ownership of complex service tasks.

The position requires hands-on experience with hot water, DX, chillers, VRV/VRF, VFDs, low-voltage controls, and EPA certification, with travel across the regional territory.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on HVAC experience.
• Commercial and/or industrial HVAC service experience.
• Hands-on hot water, DX, chiller, VRV/VRF, and low-voltage controls experience.
• EPA certification and valid HVAC license required.
• Valid driver’s license; ability to lift 75 pounds.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills; independent problem solving.
• Willingness to travel regionally.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial and industrial HVAC systems.
• Service hot water systems, DX, chillers, cooling towers, VRV/VRF, fan systems, and refrigeration equipment.
• Diagnose and service VRV/VRF systems and related equipment.
• Troubleshoot VFDs and low-voltage HVAC controls.
• Perform inspections, start-ups, and commissioning.
• Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance.
• Provide technical training and support to customers and team members.
• Maintain accurate service records using company laptop and mobile systems.
• Identify opportunities for additional services and customer solutions.
• Travel throughout the assigned regional service territory as required.
