Position Summary

The Senior Commercial HVAC Service Technician is responsible for the independent operation, advanced diagnostics, and overhaul of complex commercial HVAC infrastructure, including central plants and Building Management Systems (BMS). As a lead technician, you will ensure maximum system uptime for clients through expert‑level preventive maintenance and foster the professional growth of junior staff through active on‑the‑job training and stewardship.

Key Responsibilities

• Advanced Technical Service: Lead the inspection, installation, and repair of high‑tonnage commercial and industrial equipment, including chillers, cooling towers, boilers, and DX systems. Perform complex electrical and mechanical troubleshooting to identify root causes and implement precise solutions.
• System Integration & BMS: Operate and calibrate advanced Direct Digital Control (DDC) and Building Automation Systems (BAS) to optimize energy efficiency and performance. Monitor system logs and use diagnostic tools to anticipate potential failures.
• Leadership & Mentorship: Act as a technical lead by training and guiding junior technicians and apprentices in proper field procedures and safety standards. Inspect completed work for conformance with building codes and company excellence.
• Project Stewardship: Prepare detailed labor and material estimates for projects, coordinate with vendors, and manage client communications regarding system health and maintenance schedules.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in commercial or industrial HVAC service and repair.
• Proven expertise in troubleshooting chilled water systems, large tonnage DX equipment, and pneumatic/DDC controls.
• Mandatory Universal EPA 608 Certification and a valid driver's license.
• Demonstrated leadership ability with experience mentoring or supervising less senior technical staff.

PAY

PAY: $45/hr - $55/hr DOE + benefits (401k, Medical, Dental, Vision, Stock)
