Job summary

Provident Bank in New Jersey seeks a seasoned Credit Analyst IV – C&I to lead and structure complex commercial credits. This senior underwriting role partners with Commercial Loan Officers and may involve executive-committee approvals.

You will mentor junior analysts, manage high-exposure transactions, and contribute to vendor management, reporting, and special projects. Qualifications include a finance/Accounting/Economics degree, 7+ years in commercial banking, and strong credit and regulatory

Qualifications

• Ideal: Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting or Economics.
• Graduate banking education (GSB, Stonier) or MBA preferred.
• 7+ years in Commercial Banking with strong underwriting experience.
• Thorough knowledge of underwriting, credit analysis, and regulatory guidance.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to mitigate risks.
• Knowledge of CRE lending including investment, owner-occupied and construction.
• Proficiency in C&I lending metrics and construction budgets.
• Proficient in loan origination software and MS Office tools.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Ability to conduct meetings and present information to various stakeholders.
• Understanding of accounting practices including balance sheets and cash flows.
• Mentor Credit Analyst III under supervision.
• Ability to coordinate with 3rd party vendors.

Responsibilities

• Prepare loan approvals, annual reviews, and credit analysis for new requests and modifications.
• Accompany Commercial Loan Officers on customer calls and discuss creditworthiness.
• Conduct third-party research including industry and real estate analysis.
• Prepare reports and handle special assignments.
• Assist in 3rd party vendor management responsibilities.
• Mentor and supervise junior Credit Analysts as needed.
