Job summary

Nike Beaverton seeks a senior Assistant General Counsel to serve as a top contracting resource across Legal, Procurement, Finance and business teams. You will manage sophisticated commercial agreements, negotiate with vendors, and shape scalable contracting processes enterprise-wide.

You will mentor junior lawyers and help optimize templates, workflows and self-service resources while handling risk, IP, data protection and termination terms across complex deals.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of legal experience with substantial commercial contracting.
• Strong drafting, reviewing and negotiating vendor, services, technology, marketing and other commercial agreements.
• Experience coordinating with Legal, Procurement, Finance and business teams.

Responsibilities

• Own complex commercial contracting matters from intake through signature, including drafting, reviewing and negotiating agreements.
• Lead negotiations directly with vendors and develop practical strategies to resolve legal and commercial issues.
• Manage stakeholder relationships, advising senior business and Legal on contract structure, risk allocation and negotiation strategy.
• Coach junior lawyers, paralegals and contract staff to strengthen contracting capabilities across the team.
• Assess confidentiality, data protection, IP, indemnity, liability, insurance and termination terms in deals.
• Identify recurring issues and translate them into scalable improvements to templates, playbooks and workflows.
