Job summary

ElevenLabs, a US remote-friendly AI research and product company, seeks an experienced Commercial Counsel to join our US commercial team. You will draft and negotiate enterprise SaaS and licensing agreements, advise on data protection, privacy, and cross-border issues, and partner with sales and operations to enable growth across North America.

Candidates should have a J.D. and bar admission (NY/CA preferred), 6+ years of post-qualification experience, and a track record handling complex tech

Qualifications

• J.D. and active membership in at least one U.S. State Bar (NY or CA preferred).
• 6+ years of relevant post-qualification legal experience (in-house experience in technology or SaaS strongly preferred).
• Proven track record drafting and negotiating complex commercial and technology agreements.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise software licensing, SaaS, data protection, and intellectual property.
• Experience advising on privacy, cybersecurity, and cross-border data transfer issues.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, with a primary focus on GTM/Sales transactions in North America, including enterprise customer contracts.
• Partner with sales, business development, and operations teams to design and implement strategies that support high-growth go-to-market initiatives.
• Monitor and interpret evolving legal and regulatory developments, including data protection, technology, and AI-related frameworks, and apply this knowledge to contract drafting and risk assessment.
• Develop, maintain, and localize contract templates, playbooks, and policies to reflect regional requirements and industry best practices.
• Provide clear, pragmatic, and commercially focused legal advice to cross-functional teams, tailoring advice to enable responsible growth and innovation.
• Contribute to scaling the Legal Team’s commercial function, fostering a collaborative, solutions-oriented team culture.
