Job summary

Verto People Ltd seeks a Commercial Director/Manager to lead a technical commercial function in Houston. The role focuses on large, complex agreements, contract risk, and process improvements, not a traditional sales role.

You will build the commercial management function, coach a team, and work closely with Legal, Finance and Operations to align commercial terms with business risk and financial assumptions.

Qualifications

• Experience as a senior commercial leader negotiating large, complex technical contracts.
• Proven ability to manage contract risk and terms across multiple stakeholders.
• Experience coaching or mentoring a commercial or contracts team.

Responsibilities

• Establish and develop the commercial management function for a technical business.
• Lead commercial negotiations across complex terms and conditions, including high-risk clauses.
• Support Sales with contract reviews, fallback positions, quote quality and customer agreement structure.
• Manage commercial risk across MSAs, service agreements, project contracts and long-term service agreements.
• Improve quoting processes, contract review workflows, turnaround times and handover quality.
• Develop standard contract templates, clause libraries and negotiation playbooks.
• Train and mentor Commercial Managers to handle T&Cs reviews independently.
• Collaborate with Legal, Finance, Operations and senior leadership to align terms with business risk.
