Job summary

Actalent in Minneapolis, MN seeks a Construction Superintendent to lead field operations on complex commercial projects from groundbreaking through closeout.

You will oversee daily onsite activities, coordinate subcontractors and field personnel, and ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and in line with plans and building codes, while maintaining strong client relationships and a collaborative culture on every jobsite.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in superintendent or field leadership on commercial projects.
• Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods and safety.
• Ability to read plans, specs, and submittals.
• Experience managing subcontractors and field teams.
• Proficiency with Procore or Bluebeam.
• Excellent communication with clients and design teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily onsite construction activities to ensure safety, efficiency, and alignment with plans.
• Coordinate subcontractors and field personnel to maintain schedules and quality.
• Maintain project documentation: daily reports, safety logs, progress updates.
• Conduct regular site inspections for compliance with documents and codes.
• Collaborate with project managers on scheduling, procurement, and issue resolution.
• Lead onsite safety initiatives and enforce OSHA standards.
• Communicate with clients, design teams, and stakeholders for alignment.
• Manage closeout activities including punch lists and turnover docs.
• Provide day-to-day leadership to field teams and maintain a professional site environment.
• Support quality control on ground-up and tenant improvement projects.
