Job summary

The Weitz Company is seeking a Project Superintendent to lead field operations on complex, large projects in our Denver, CO area. This role emphasizes safety culture, schedule, budget, and staff management to achieve profitable outcomes.

You will build and maintain client, vendor, supplier, and subcontractor relationships while working closely with the Project Manager. The position reports to the most senior Project Manager on the job.

Qualifications

• At least five years of commercial construction experience.
• Experience with safety, preconstruction, staff development, retention and customer interaction.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Experience with scheduling and cost reporting.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary leader of subcontractors and field forces on a job site
• Maintain project safety in accordance with the Company's Safety Policy
• Develop and update the project schedule
• Prepare two-week look ahead schedules
• Update project schedules utilizing computerized scheduling software
• Assist with the buyout and selection of major subcontractors
• Coordinate the work of the subcontractors' field forces
• Communicate effectively with owners, designers and engineers
• Maintain accurate cost reports
• Adhere to all company policies, standards, and procedures
• Other duties and projects as assigned
