Job summary

Pleasant Valley Corporation in Medina, Ohio, seeks an Estimator to develop accurate cost estimates for commercial construction projects from $50K to $5M, including ground-up and tenant improvements. The role is based at our Medina office and offers opportunities to lead bid development and collaborate with project teams.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years of related experience, a construction management background, and proficiency with plan reading and take-off software. CPE is a plus.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of related experience in commercial construction; 7–9 years without a degree.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management preferred but not required.
• Proficiency in electronic plan reading and take-off software required.
• Strong understanding of project-specific General Conditions and General Requirements.
• Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Bid Preparation and Analysis: Review bid documents to prepare accurate cost and labor estimates.
• Subcontractor And Supplier Coordination: Solicit quotes and qualify proposals for scope accuracy.
• Scope Development And Documentation: Create detailed Scopes of Work and Basis of Estimate supplements.
• Collaboration And Oversight: Work with Junior Estimators, Coordinators, and PMs on bid development and buy-out.
• Process Improvement And Education: Maintain pre-construction standards and pursue continuing education.
