Job summary

Pleasant Valley Corporation in Medina, Ohio, seeks an experienced Estimator to develop accurate cost estimates for commercial construction projects ranging from $50K to $5M, supporting bidding and project execution.

You will review bid documents, coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers, and create detailed scopes of work and basis of estimate supplements. The role collaborates with project teams and emphasizes ongoing education and certifications.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of related experience in commercial construction; 7–9 years acceptable without a degree.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management preferred but not required.
• Proficiency in electronic plan reading and take-off software required.
• Strong understanding of General Conditions and General Requirements.

Responsibilities

• Bid preparation and analysis: review documents to prepare cost and labor estimates and identify risks.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers, solicit quotes, and verify scope.
• Develop detailed Scopes of Work and Basis of Estimate supplements.
• Collaborate with Junior Estimators, Estimating Coordinators, and PMs to support bid development and buy-out.
• Pursue continuing education and relevant certifications to improve estimating skills.
