Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) seeks a Sr. Electrical Colo Regional Engineer in Herndon, VA to lead data center design, construction, and operations across a global colocation portfolio. You will collaborate with business teams, vendors, and engineers to ensure compliant, reliable infrastructure and drive standards in MEPS systems.

You will assess facilities, perform risk analyses, and influence design to meet AWS business needs while traveling internationally and domestically up to 50% of the time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• 6+ years in data center design, construction, or operations.
• Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Experience researching new data center designs and construction methods.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site assessments against AWS standards for colocation data centers and upgrades.
• Perform risk analysis and availability calculations for vendor-owned infrastructure.
• Influence AWS design and specification requirements for colocation products.
• Investigate root-cause failure analyses for infrastructure and equipment.
