Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking an engineer with extensive data center design, MEPS infrastructure, and operations experience. The role involves leading site assessments, collaborating with internal teams and external vendors, and shaping standards for colocation products.

You will travel up to 50% to data center sites, oversee testing of critical systems, and support optimization of utilization and performance for AWS infrastructure globally.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of data center design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods for data center equipment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site assessments against AWS standards for colocation data centers, upgrades, and capital projects.
• Perform risk analysis and availability calculations for vendor-owned colocation infrastructure.
• Influence AWS design and specification requirements for colocation products.
• Investigate root-cause analysis for infrastructure and equipment failures.
• Collaborate with vendors and agencies to ensure compliance with codes and regulations.
• Test and validate installation, operation, and performance of critical systems.
