Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking an engineer with data center MEPS design experience to help shape AWS colocation facilities globally. You will evaluate design and operations, document deficiencies, and influence standards for data center products.

You’ll work with internal teams and external vendors, leading colocation projects, performing risk analyses, and ensuring compliance with codes. Travel up to 50% internationally and domestically.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of data center design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Experience in data center design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance.
• Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site assessments against AWS standards for colocation data centers and upgrades.
• Perform risk analyses and availability calculations for data center infrastructure.
• Influence AWS design and specification requirements for colocation products.
• Investigate and document root-cause failure analyses related to infrastructure failures.
• Work with vendors and local agencies to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and commissioning teams to test and validate installations.
• Support operations and data scientists to determine utilization and performance of critical systems.
• Travel to Data Center sites as required - international & domestic up to 50%.
