Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. seeks a Colo Regional Engineer in Mesa, AZ to lead data center design and upgrades. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to assess colo facilities, review infrastructure designs, and ensure reliability and efficiency across AWS regions.

The role requires MEPS infrastructure expertise, field presence, and strong project delivery skills, with a focus on safety and availability in mission critical environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of engineering in mission critical facilities (data centers, power generation, etc.).
• Experience with building codes/regulations and construction drawings.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site assessments against AWS standards for colo data centers and telecom facilities.
• Review vendor infrastructure designs; perform risk analysis and availability calculations.
• Perform design reviews for new data centers in region; support RCA and corrective actions.
• Lead engineering site audits and interface with internal teams and vendors.
• Own design for data center upgrades to improve capacity, availability, and efficiency.
• Guide colo data center upgrades and ensure consistency with standards.
• Support construction, commissioning, and turnover as resident engineer on projects.
