Job summary

Amazon is seeking an Electrical Engineer for Data Center Colocation Regional Engineering (AMER). The role focuses on design, evaluation, and upgrades of colo data centers across regions, ensuring reliability and efficiency for AWS infrastructure.

The engineer will partner with internal teams, vendors, and consultants to assess facilities, review submittals, troubleshoot issues, and guide global data center portfolio direction with MEPS expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of engineering in mission critical facilities (data centers, power generation, oil and gas).
• Experience with MS Office.
• Master's degree and PE license are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site assessments against AWS standards for colo data centers and telecom facilities.
• Review vendor infrastructure designs; perform risk analysis and availability calculations for colo data centers.
• Design review for new data centers; troubleshoot and document corrective actions.
• Lead colo data center upgrades to improve availability and efficiency.
• Interface with internal teams and vendors to maintain standards and reliability.
