Job summary

City of Indio is seeking a Senior Code Enforcement Officer to lead inspections of residential, commercial, and industrial properties, ensuring compliance with codes and ordinances. Qualifications

• Education: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade.
• Experience: Two years of experience equivalent to a Code Enforcement Officer II with the City of Indio.
• License/Certificate: Possession of a valid Class C California driver's license; Possession of, or the ability to obtain, a PC 832 within one year is required.

Responsibilities

• Leads, plans, and participates in inspections of residential, commercial, and industrial properties to determine code violations and coordinates corrective actions.
• Trains assigned employees in code enforcement methods, procedures, and techniques.
• Verifies work of staff for accuracy and safety; prepares reports and keeps records of enforcement activities.
• Interprets and enforces applicable codes and regulations; explains processes to the public and other agencies.
• Maintains positive working relationships with community representatives and the public.
