Job summary

Interwest Consulting Group seeks a Senior Building Inspector to perform field inspections of residential, commercial, and public facilities. You will review plans for code conformity, interact with the public, and maintain detailed inspection records and permitting data across multiple projects within CA and NV.

Ideal candidates hold ICC residential and commercial certifications, California licenses, and stay current with IBC editions.

Qualifications

• Performs daily field inspections of residential, commercial and public facility construction projects.
• Interacts with the public and explains technical information to diverse audiences.
• Reviews plans and calculations for building component compliance with codes.
• Provides interpretations of City, State, Federal, and local standards.
• Maintains accurate inspection records and permitting data.
• Enters inspection results into permitting software and logs.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect residential, commercial, and public facility construction daily in the field.
• Explain technical information to technically and non-technically trained individuals.
• Review plans and calculations for code compliance and give interpretations.
• Maintain records and logs for inspections and testing.
• Enter inspection results into permitting software and related systems.
• Coordinate with staff, contractors, and authorities on project needs.
