Job summary
The Senior Code Specialist 2 at MTA Construction & Development ensures compliance with the State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code and related codes on project levels. The role reviews definitions, designs, construction, and acceptance steps, and requires high competency in one or more technical code topics.
Responsibilities include reviewing plans, performing site inspections, and approving permits and certificates.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field with six years of related experience.
- Certified Code Enforcement Official within 18 months of hire.
- Seven years of experience in plan review or construction inspection.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
- Reviews plans and documents to ensure compliance with the State Uniform Code and Energy Code.
- Performs site inspections to ensure work conforms with the State Uniform Code and approved plans.
- Accepts, reviews, and approves review requests for construction permits and certificates of code compliance.
- Attends meetings and effectively communicates with project team members to ensure compliance with the Uniform Code is part of all decisions.
