Job summary

ECS Group of Companies is seeking a Senior Code Compliance Project Manager to join the Mid-Atlantic Building Science + Infrastructure team in Chantilly, VA. The role targets a licensed Mechanical Engineer with extensive experience in code compliance inspections, plan review, and mechanical systems, to lead complex projects and mentor junior inspectors.

The position blends project management, technical oversight, client interaction, and field and office duties across public and private sector

Qualifications

• 10+ years of related experience in code compliance inspection of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems and/or plan review.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required or ability to obtain within 6 months; Mechanical PE strongly preferred.
• DHCD & ICC Certifications are strongly preferred. If not current, ability to achieve certification within 1 year is required.

Responsibilities

• Manage code compliance projects end-to-end including reviewing plans, providing technical support, inspections, field reports, and client meetings.
• Mentor and train junior building inspectors.
• Serve as subject matter expert in code compliance and participate in local jurisdictional activities.
• Oversee project management and field oversight of inspectors to ensure compliance and quality of final reports.
