Job summary

Coforge is seeking an experienced mainframe specialist to join our US-based team. The role emphasizes COBOL debugging, JCL/CICS/VSAM work, IBM MQ, and DB2/SQL support within a strong SDLC framework.

You will troubleshoot batch and online processes, support CCP connectivity, and provide clear updates to users across multiple departments. AWS cloud familiarity is a plus in a fast-paced support environment.

Qualifications

• 7–12 years hands-on application development experience.
• Experience writing and debugging COBOL.
• Experience working on JCL, CICS, VSAM, and other mainframe tools.
• Experience working with IBM MQ.
• Experience working on DB2 and SQL.
• Experience with SDLC on mainframe.
• Advance hands-on experience in troubleshooting Mainframe batch & online handling.
• Experience supporting clearing business.
• Good exposure using AI models in support function.
• Experience supporting CCP (Central Clearing Party) connectivity, clearing and client reporting.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot issues quickly by analyzing data and identifying root causes.
• Read and debug source code to analyze issues and implement fixes.
• Collaborate with product teams to review and apply fixes.
• Develop tools to automate key processes and improve efficiency.
• Assist users across operations, business units, and engineering teams.
• Prepare clear, regular updates on ongoing requests.
• Provide high-quality documentation and reporting for users and stakeholders.
