Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing mainframe applications to identify dependencies and inefficiencies.
• Design, develop, test, debug, and maintain COBOL-based applications.
• Develop and maintain JCL scripts for batch processing and job execution.
• Work with DB2 databases, including SQL, stored procedures, and tuning.
• Develop and maintain VSAM files and data processing routines.
• Support CICS transaction processing and integration with existing apps.
• Monitor batch jobs using enterprise scheduling tools like Control‑M/CCS.
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, implement fixes.
• Participate in modernization, refactoring, and integration initiatives.
• Collaborate with analysts, QA, architects, and cross-functional teams.
• Support system testing, QA/UAT, release management, and production deployments.

We are an enterprise organization seeking an experienced Senior Mainframe Developer with strong hands-on expertise in COBOL,JCL,DB2,VSAM,and CICS integration to support our critical applications.

In this role,you will be responsible for analyzing existing mainframe applications,identifying dependencies,improving application performance,and supporting modernization and integration initiatives.The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mainframe application development,legacy code analysis,production support,and system enhancement.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze,review,and reverse-engineer existing mainframe applications to identify dependencies,inefficiencies,and opportunities for improvement.
• Design,develop,test,debug,and maintain COBOL-based applications.
• Develop,execute,and maintain JCL scripts for batch processing and job execution.
• Work with DB2 databases,utilizing SQL queries,stored procedures,and performing performance tuning.
• Develop and maintain VSAM files and related data processing routines.
• Support CICS transaction processing and integration with existing mainframe applications.
• Manage and monitor batch jobs using Control‑M,CCS,or similar enterprise scheduling tools.
• Troubleshoot production issues,perform root‑cause analysis,and implement permanent fixes.
