Tek Spikes in Atlanta, GA is seeking an experienced COBOL Developer with 6+ years in a Linux/Unix environment to design, develop, test, and implement COBOL-based solutions leveraging Oracle databases and modern integration via SOAP/REST APIs using XML/JSON.

The ideal candidate will also have exposure to C programming and AWS cloud platforms, contributing to legacy modernization and SDLC processes within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of COBOL development experience in Unix/Linux environments.
• Strong experience with relational databases, preferably Oracle.
• Proficiency with Unix/Linux command-line tools and shell scripting.
• Familiarity with SOAP/REST APIs and data interchange via XML/JSON.
• Exposure to C programming.
• AWS or any cloud platform experience (preferred but not mandatory).

Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, develop, test, and implement software solutions following established SDLC methodologies.
• Construct, test, and deploy portions of complex COBOL-based systems.
• Participate in system upgrades, enhancements, and legacy system conversions.
• Use development tools to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve business and technical issues.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Validate scope, create development plans, and deliver on assigned technical projects.
