Job summary

InterSources Inc. seeks an experienced IT professional to analyze the Phoenix core business system, lead technical analysis, and translate business requirements into technical specifications. You will drive development and testing of changes in a Windows client-server environment.

You will mentor developers, coordinate with business units, and provide ongoing production support, with weekly status updates to management. This contract role spans 12 months with hybrid onsite/remote work in the U.S.

Qualifications

6+ years of experience with Visual and/or Micro Focus COBOL.
10+ years of experience developing and maintaining complex, mission-critical applications in a Windows-based Client-Server environment.
5+ years of experience leading a technical software development team.
10+ years of experience coding and testing complex COBOL-based business systems using Oracle SQL in a Windows Client-Server environment.

Responsibilities

Analyze the Phoenix core business system and assigned tickets.
Lead analysis and recommend technical solutions for tickets and projects.
Partner with business units to develop business requirements and specifications.
Translate business specifications into technical specs and obtain approval.
Code, test, promote, and implement application changes.
Work with users to verify functionality against requirements.
Provide production support for the Phoenix system.
Lead and mentor technical development resources.
Provide daily/weekly status updates to development manager and business analysts.
