Job summary

United Global Technologies, Inc. seeks a Senior COBOL Developer to maintain and enhance core business systems using COBOL on a Windows client-server platform. The role leads the COBOL development team and interfaces with business units to finalize technical specifications.

Hybrid work with onsite training preferred; after training, up to two remote days weekly may be discussed. CJIS security certification is required, and candidate must reside in SC/NC/GA or relocate at own expense.

Qualifications

• 6+ years with Visual and/or Micro Focus COBOL.
• 10+ years in Windows-based client-server environments.
• 5+ years leading a software development team.
• 10+ years coding COBOL with Oracle SQL in a Windows client-server setup.
• 5+ years of L3 production support experience.
• Strong ability to translate business specs into technical specs and deliver.

Responsibilities

• Analyze core business system and tickets for modification.
• Lead analysis and propose solutions for tickets and projects.
• Collaborate with business units to develop and sign off on specs.
• Code, test, promote, and ensure solutions meet documented requirements.
• Provide production support for the system.
• Report daily and weekly status to management and analysts.
