Job summary
KonnectIT in Chicago, IL is seeking a COBOL/DB2 Application Developer/Manager with more than six years of experience in enterprise application development and management. You will design, build, and modernize mainframe solutions using COBOL, DB2, IMS DB/DC, JCL, and CICS, ensuring reliability and performance.
You will collaborate with business analysts, QA, and operations, manage batch workflows, and contribute to modernization initiatives while documenting processes and enforcing SDLC best
Qualifications
- More than six years of experience in enterprise application development and management.
- Strong COBOL and DB2 expertise.
- Experience with IMS DB/DC, JCL, and CICS in enterprise environments.
- Understanding of SDLC and enterprise application architecture.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve application and performance issues.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, enhance, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, DB2, IMS DB/DC, JCL, and CICS.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Write, optimize, and troubleshoot DB2 queries, stored procedures, and batch jobs.
- Support application performance tuning, debugging, and defect resolution.
- Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, and operations to ensure smooth delivery.
- Document technical processes and contribute to system modernization initiatives.
