Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Coatings Inspector II to lead inspection of protective coating and lining work on industrial, water, and infrastructure projects. You plan hold points, verify prep and cure, perform tests, and sign off before proceeding.

With CIP Level 2 certification and 2+ years of experience, you’ll supervise Level 1 inspectors, write reports, and ensure conformance to SSPC/NACE/AMPP standards on tank, pipeline, and structural coatings.

Qualifications

• AMPP (NACE) CIP Level 2 certification current with 2+ years' experience under it.
• Knowledge of SSPC/NACE surface prep standards and common industrial coating systems.
• Experience on tank, pipeline, water/wastewater, or structural steel coating projects.
• Ability to stop nonconforming work and document it for closure.

Responsibilities

• Plan inspection hold points and testing from coating specification and data.
• Verify surface preparation, application, and cure with sign-off authority at hold points.
• Perform adhesion, holiday, and cure testing; disposition defects and specify repairs.
• Supervise Level 1 inspectors on larger projects and review logs.
• Write inspection and nonconformance reports; represent the program to owner and applicator.
