Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Coatings Inspector II to lead inspection of protective coatings and linings on industrial projects with sign-off authority. You will plan hold points, verify surface prep, apply coatings, and perform tests with accuracy, while guiding Level 1 inspectors and writing reports for owners.

Required AMPP/NACE CIP Level 2 certification with 2+ years of field inspection experience; knowledge of SSPC/NACE standards and tank/pipeline coatings; ability to stop

Qualifications

• 2+ years inspecting under CIP Level 2.
• Familiar with SSPC/NACE surface preparation standards and common industrial coating systems.
• ,
• Experience on tank, pipeline, water/wastewater, or structural steel coating projects.

Responsibilities

• Plan inspection hold points and testing per coating specification and data sheets.
• Verify surface preparation, application, and cure with sign-off authority at each hold point.
• Perform adhesion, holiday, and cure testing and disposition defects.
• Supervise Level 1 inspectors on larger projects and review logs.
• Write inspection and nonconformance reports for owner and applicator.
• Represent the inspection program to owner and applicator.
