Placements24 is seeking a Civil Engineer with coastal and marine expertise to join their East London team. The role covers the design, construction, and maintenance of harbours, seawalls, breakwaters, and jetties, using hydrodynamics and materials science to deliver robust marine structures.

The position is hybrid; you will support port operations and coastal protection projects, with growth opportunities in marine engineering.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with Coastal or Marine specialization.
• Minimum 6 years' experience designing and building coastal/marine structures.
• Proficiency with Delft3D and ANSYS Aqwa for hydrodynamic/structural analysis.
• Strong naval architecture knowledge and maritime engineering practices.
• Familiarity with international and South African codes for marine works.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities under harsh marine conditions.

Aufgaben

• Design and analyze coastal and marine structures considering wave loads, currents, and seabed conditions.
• Develop plans for harbour improvements, port facilities, and offshore structures.
• Assess and recommend solutions for coastal erosion and protection measures.
• Prepare detailed design reports, drawings, and specifications for marine construction.
• Oversee construction supervision for marine projects, ensuring safety and quality.
• Conduct site investigations and feasibility studies for new coastal developments.
