Job summary

Vanasse Hangen Brustlin Inc. is seeking Senior Level Waterfront Engineers to support planning, permitting and design of coastal infrastructure across the footprint, including marinas, piers, bulkheads, seawalls and living shorelines.

Role offers flexibility on location within the VHB footprint and involves multi-disciplinary coastal engineering work. The ideal candidate has 8–11 years of waterfront experience, a PE license (or ability to obtain within 6 months), and strong technical writing and

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil, Structural, Waterfront, or Coastal Engineering; MS degree preferred.
• 8-11 years of Waterfront Engineering experience including geotechnical/structural analysis.
• Professional Engineer license required or obtainable within 6 months.
• Knowledge of Rhode Island regulatory processes is preferred.
• Experience with USACE, FEMA, USGS, NOAA is preferred."

Responsibilities

• Support Waterfront/Coastal practice projects and business development efforts.
• Develop qualifications and proposals for waterfront infrastructure and coastal resilience RFPs.
• Perform engineering analysis and design of waterfront/coastal structures.
• Manage projects (scope, budget, schedule) with sub-consultants and ensure quality control.
• Site inspections and reports.
