Job summary

Freese and Nichols seeks a Senior Coastal Engineer to lead coastal and navigation projects across planning, design, and construction stages along the U.S. Gulf and Atlantic Coasts.

Open to Houston, Pearland, Corpus Christi in TX and New Orleans, Tampa, Jacksonville, or Orlando. The role involves mentoring staff, client relations, and driving strategic growth with a hybrid work model allowing up to 40% remote.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of engineering and design experience.
• Experience delivering projects for and working with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
• PM experience leading delivery teams and coordinating with clients and regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities

• Lead coastal and navigation planning, design, and construction-phase services.
• Guide technical approach, cost estimating, scheduling, and resourcing decisions.
• Mentor coastal engineering staff and support professional growth.
• Build relationships with clients and lead proposals and qualifications.
• Support growth to expand services geographically and technically.

Education

Bachelor's degree in engineering

Professional Engineer license (PE)
