Freese and Nichols, Inc. in Houston, TX seeks a Coastal Engineer – Water Resource Design to lead technical delivery for coastal and navigation projects from planning through construction.

You’ll grow project management skills, client relationships and technical leadership while guiding teams and ensuring quality outcomes. Ideal candidates hold a PE license, a bachelor’s degree in engineering, and 4+ years of related experience, including work with coastal or navigation projects and the US Army

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Professional Engineer license.
• 4+ years of related engineering experience including independent evaluation and application of standard techniques.
• Experience delivering coastal or navigation projects and working with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
• Experience coordinating project teams and working directly with clients, regulatory agencies or other stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering deliverables for coastal and navigation planning, design and construction-phase projects.
• Manage small- to medium-sized projects or support project management for larger, more complex assignments.
• Coordinate project teams, schedules, resources and technical tasks to support quality delivery within scope and budget.
• Develop and review engineering analyses, calculations, studies, reports, plans and other deliverables.
• Apply QA/QC processes while reviewing work of team members.
• Guide engineers and staff on assigned tasks and follow up on schedules and requirements.
• Build client relationships through project delivery and technical discussions.
