Job summary

GE Vernova in Bangor is seeking a seasoned CNC Machinist Trainer to lead the Machinist Internship Program. You will deliver daily shop-floor and classroom training to interns and early-career machinists, teaching CNC operation, setup, and programming with GD&T and precision metrology.

You will develop training Modules, mentor with real production scenarios, and track progress while advancing safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate degree in related field.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on CNC machining experience including setup, operation, and programming.
• Demonstrated experience teaching, training, or mentoring others in manufacturing, machining, or skilled trades.
• Working knowledge of CNC controls, G-Code programming, and Macro Programming.
• Familiarity with adaptive machining techniques including tool and part probing.
• Understanding of precision metrology practices and GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Instruct interns and early-career machinists in CNC operation, setup, and programming.
• Develop, maintain, and improve training modules, work instructions, and learning progressions.
• Provide one-on-one coaching and mentorship to interns, identifying skill gaps and adjusting instruction.
• Maintain records of intern development, milestones, and training outcomes.
• Report program progress to operations leadership and suggest process improvements.
• Model and reinforce SQDC standards in training interactions.
• Explore and evaluate VR tools and digital resources to supplement hands-on instruction.
