Job summary

GE Vernova's Bangor facility seeks an experienced CNC Machinist Trainer to lead and deliver the internal Machinist Internship Program. This hands-on role trains interns and early-career machinists in CNC operation, setup, programming, and metrology, with emphasis on GD&T and precision manufacturing.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in CNC machining, teaching or mentoring experience, and a passion for passing skills to the next generation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate degree in related field.
• Minimum 5 years hands-on CNC machining experience including setup, operation, and programming.
• Demonstrated experience teaching, training, or mentoring others in manufacturing or skilled trades.
• Working knowledge of CNC controls, G-Code programming, and Macro Programming.
• Familiarity with adaptive machining techniques including tool and part probing.
• Understanding of GD&T and precision metrology.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver the Machinist Internship Program with daily shop-floor and classroom training.
• Demonstrate CNC operation, setup, and programming including G-Code, Macro Programming and adaptive techniques.
• Guide trainees through print reading, GD&T, and metrology practices.
• Develop and maintain training modules, work instructions, and progression milestones.
• Build assessment tools and track intern competency and outcomes.
• Provide one-on-one coaching and mentor interns on production scenarios.
