Unknown company is seeking a Senior CNC Setup Machinist to lead complex setups on HMC/VMC mills and multi-axis turning centers in a 1st shift environment in Wisconsin. The role includes editing G-code at the controller, performing first-article inspections, mentoring operators, and collaborating with engineering on DFM reviews.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of independent CNC setup on HMC/VMC mills or multi-axis lathes, including G-code editing at the controller.
• Proven track record in close-tolerance machining environments (Aerospace/Defense/Medical Device preferred).
• Hands-on experience with high-spec CNC machinery and industrial controls.

Responsabilités

• Lead complex, independent machine setups and zero-point adjustments on CNC HMC/VMC mills and multi-axis turning centers.
• Edit G-code and macro variables at the controller to optimize tool paths and machine cycles for aerospace/defense parts.
• Perform precision first-article inspections using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, height stands, and optical comparators.
• Maximize cell throughput by reducing bottlenecks and cycle times across active machine stations.
• Mentor and train junior operators, troubleshoot floor setups, and upskill production staff.
• Collaborate with engineering on tool-path optimizations, lean initiatives, and DFM reviews for new products.
