Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. in Simi Valley, CA is seeking a CNC Programmer / Machinist to own projects from programming to machining, including set-up and operation of 3-5 axis CNC machines.

The role requires 5+ years in CAM programming (MasterCam, Surfcam, or HSM), multi-axis/3D machining, and G/M code expertise. US person for ITAR compliance. Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a programmer using CAM software such as MasterCam, Surfcam, or HSM.
• 5+ years of experience as a machine setup & operator
• Clear knowledge and editing experience of G and M codes
• High level of familiarity with multi-axis and 3D machining.
• Experience with 5th axis milling, and or multi-task machines.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret technical blueprints and design models.
• Program, setup and operate CNC multi-axis milling and turning machines.
• Design and implement fixtures and workholding methods to optimize production.
• Troubleshoot issues and adjust manufacturing processes during machining.
• Perform quality control inspections during and after manufacturing.
