Job summary

A & R Engineering Co Inc in Carson, CA is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer/Set Up Operator for a hybrid manufacturing role in our aerospace and defense facility. You will program 4–5 axis CNC machines, perform first article runs, and help plan production from quotes to routing.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in aerospace machining, strong Mastercam or Fusion 360 skills, deep G-code and GD&T knowledge, and experience in AS9100 environments. ITAR compliance is required.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in aerospace CNC machining with expertise in CNC programming and setup
• Strong proficiency with Mastercam or Fusion 360
• Deep understanding of G-code, GD&T, blueprint reading, and aerospace tolerancing
• Experience in AS9100/AS9102-regulated environments
• Ability to estimate machining time, material requirements, and tooling needs for quoting
• Familiarity with aerospace alloys (ti, Inconel, stainless steel, aluminum)
• ITAR compliance: U.S. person required

Responsibilities

• CNC Programming & Setup: program CNC mill and lathe operations using Mastercam or Fusion 360
• Perform first article setups, dry runs, and edits to validate program accuracy
• Conduct in-process inspections to verify dimensions during first article production runs
• Capable of training machine operators on setup sheets, fixturing, and safe operation of new programs
• Assist in movement of materials to meet schedules and address bottlenecks
• Maintain revision control for CNC programs and tooling instructions
• Manufacturing Lead: estimate time/materials for quoting; develop router sequences and BOMs; select tooling and machine allocation
• Collaborate with Customer, Production and Quality to ensure DFM and AS9100 compliance
• Organize machine shop priorities and workflow to meet customer requirements
