Job Description

CNC Programmer - Climate controlled environment

Our client is seeking an experienced CNC programmer to create CNC programs for a variety of production and prototype parts. The ideal person should know CNC machining processes, fixturing, CNC cutting tools, and Gibbs Cam software (Solidworks /Mastercam).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate CNC lathe or mill
• Create and edit CNC programs and setup sheets for processing parts on vertical and horizontal CNC machining centers.
• Design project fixturing and plan cutting tool sequence to process parts efficiently
• Support setup and operator machinist to produce quality parts.
• Provide feedback to design engineers to produce manufacturable designs and drawings.
• Research new technology in CNC cutting tools, machining fixtures, and effective operation sequences to reduce part costs and cycle times.
• Perform any additional reasonable tasks consistent with your professional abilities that may be requested by the company

Qualifications

• Experience in mill CNC machine tool programming and setup
• Understanding of G code editing and troubleshooting. Creating and editing macros is a plus
• Strong technical knowledge of current CNC machining cutting tools and calculating feeds and speeds
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
• Experience with the machining of castings
• Experience using Gibbs Cam
• Programming experience using a coordinate measurement Machine (CMM) is a plus
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
