Job summary

Align Precision Corp in New York is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to develop, modify, and maintain programs for multi-axis milling and turning equipment. You will interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and customer data to drive efficient production and first article success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical field; Master's preferred.
• 3–5 years of hands-on CNC programming in a production environment.
• Experience programming CNC milling and/or turning, including multi-axis machines, with G-code and/or CAM software.
• Proficient CNC programming software and tools; able to read drawings and GD&T.
• Experience supporting CNC prove-outs, first article inspections, and troubleshooting.
• Lean manufacturing knowledge; familiar with regulated environments (AS9100/ISO 9001, ITAR, NADCAP preferred).
• Strong analytical/problem-solving skills and clear communication.
• Microsoft Office and ERP/MES exposure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, modify, and maintain CNC programs using CAM software.
• Interpret drawings, GD&T, specs, and data packages for production.
• Optimize machining strategies to improve cycle time, tool life, and quality.
• Collaborate with engineers and machinists to resolve programming issues.
• Support NPI through program development, validation, and first articles.
• Select tooling, fixtures, feeds, and speeds based on material and part complexity.
• Run simulations and verifications to ensure safe, accurate execution.
• Maintain setup sheets, tool lists, and revision control documentation.
• Provide technical guidance during setup and production runs.
• Contribute to continuous improvement for cost reduction and efficiency.
